  1. BUSINESS: Capitec Bank CEO Gerrie Fourie says the organisation is not in financial trouble. Speaking to TalkRadio 702’s John Robbie this morning Fourie expressed his disappointment that global ratings agency Moody’s did not notify the bank that it was being rated. This follows Moody’s downgrading of Capitec by two points on Friday. Business Day reports that the downgrades included the bank’s deposit ratings, national-scale issuer ratings and its financial strength ratings. In a statement issued this weekend, the Reserve Bank of South Africa said it disagreed with Moody’s rating. Capitec also disagreed, with the group’s financial director, Andre du Plessis, reportedly saying that the ratings were “unfair and inappropriate”.

Honestly, I thought it was a scam, and then I decided to make a request based on their recommendations.
